Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 1, 2026
1. Who this applies to
This policy covers the Pocket Mondays iOS app, its widgets, Live Activities, and companion Apple Watch app (collectively, the "App"). By using the App you agree to this policy.
2. Data we store on your device
Everything you create in the App is saved locally on your iPhone (and shared with the App's own widgets and Watch app through a private, on-device app group). This includes:
- Calendar events, tasks, subtasks, habits, and countdowns you create.
- Your settings and preferences.
- If you use Sign in with Apple: the identifier, and the name/email you choose to share, stored locally to personalize the app. You can also use the app as a guest with no sign-in at all.
This data is not transmitted to us and is not backed up to any server we control.
3. On-device AI
Features such as schedule scanning, natural-language event entry, smart time suggestions, visual event styling, and the daily briefings are powered by Apple's on-device Foundation Models. This processing happens on your device. The content you scan or type for these features is not sent to us or to any third-party AI service.
4. Information the App accesses (with your permission)
The App asks for these permissions only when you use the related feature. You can change any of them anytime in the iOS Settings app.
| Permission | Why it's used |
|---|---|
| Calendar | To sync your events two-way with Apple Calendar so they stay consistent across your devices. |
| Contacts | To read names and birthdays so the App can show birthday countdowns. Contact data stays on your device. |
| Camera | To scan a paper schedule and import events. Images are processed on-device. |
| Photos | To import a schedule from a photo you choose. Images are processed on-device. |
| Location | To estimate travel time and tell you when to leave for events. Used only for that calculation. |
| Face ID / Touch ID | To optionally lock the App. Authentication is handled by the system; we never see your biometric data. |
| Notifications | To deliver event reminders, departure alerts, and daily briefings. |
5. Network connections
The App works almost entirely offline. It makes network requests only in these two cases, and neither sends your personal calendar, task, or habit data:
- Weather — When showing weather in your daily summary, the App uses Apple's WeatherKit service, which requires your location to be sent to Apple to return a forecast. This is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
- Public holidays — To show holiday countdowns, the App requests a public holiday list from the Nager.Date public API using only a year and a country code. No personal information is sent. See date.nager.at.
6. Analytics and tracking
The App contains no third-party advertising, no analytics SDKs, and no tracking. We do not build a profile of you and we do not use the Advertising Identifier (IDFA).
7. Children's privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them. Because data stays on the device, no personal data is collected by us from any user.
8. Your control and data deletion
You can delete any event, task, habit, or countdown inside the App at any time. Deleting the App from your device removes all of its locally stored data. To manage data synced to Apple Calendar, use the Apple Calendar app or your iCloud settings.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the App evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new "Last updated" date.
